This is where the coast’s history and natural beauty meet. Perched on the Pacific Ocean, the Little River Inn has graciously greeted guests and their dogs for five generations. All rooms have ocean views and many feature fireplaces, Jacuzzis and hot tubs. The dramatic and ever-hanging ocean views provide a breathtaking backdrop for your stay.

The Little River Inn provides designated on-leash walking areas complete with waste bag dispensers and disposable receptacles, cover sheets for furniture, water and food dish, a pet towel, disposable waste bags and “welcome” treats. You can dine with your dog in the parlor, pro shop and of course, in your room.

When booking a reservation, remember to tell them you are bringing a pet so they can make sure to reserve a dog-friendly room. Dogs are required to be out of the room during housekeeping service. Please have all pets on a leash when outside of your room.

Moseying Through Mendocino County

If you haven’t been to Mendocino County in a while, consider following coastal Highway 1 through a scenic wonderland touched by many trails where you and your dog can sniff out your own discoveries.

Start in Gualala, on the Sonoma/Mendocino county line, where the Gualala Bluff Trail offers three miles of elevated views and excellent wildlife watching (look for passing whales, sea otters hauled out on the beach and lots of shorebirds). Sunsets seen from the trail often are outstanding, too.
