Calaveras Humane Society (CHS) is a 501(c)(3) organization whose goal is to promote an excellent quality of life for the companion animals of Calaveras County.

CHS offers financial assistance for pet owners who need to spay or neuter their pets but can’t afford the entire bill, and their Pet Food Bank shares donations from the community with folks who need pet food supply assistance.

After the Fire, Amador and Calaveras Are Open for Business

The Butte Fire may be history, but it will take many years and lots of resources for residents of the affected areas to get their lives back. Along with our travel partners in Amador and Calaveras Counties, we'd like to send heartfelt thanks to all the firefighters, first responders, and volunteers whose efforts accomplished so much to save lives and homes during this year's horrific fire season. more »
