Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation is looking for a few good dog walkers—or contingents of dog walkers—to raise funds and walk in the Animals on Broadway Pet Walk on May 20. If your dog is the strolling-and-socializing sort, this is the event for you. For those who go in for costumes, there's even a best-dressed pet contest as part of the daylong festivities that go on in downtown Walnut Creek, with fun events and lots of participation from the local merchants. Not to mention a Pet Wellness Fair, where services from microchipping to vaccinations will be available at affordable prices.
All this is in support of ARF's work saving the lives of thousands of pets in need—like the lovely Sasha, one of the current residents. A friendly, outgoing girl who's good with other dogs, Sasha is a German shepherd/golden retriever mix who craves an active lifestyle. She will do well with a person who spends time with her and engages her busy mind.
