Seventeen-Mile Drive on the Monterey Peninsula

Scenic Drive

The view
The view

Yes, Seventeen-Mile-Drive is a tourist attraction, but if you make a day of it, you’ll find the $10 entry fee a small price to pay for soaking up some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

The winding road passes through exclusive neighborhoods and past numerous wave-pounded vista points, many with walking paths—but it will also take you to the tony Lodge at Pebble Beach, where you can watch golfers swing from an outdoor table at the Gallery Café.
