Meet Pumpkin, a 5-year-old Australian kelpie mix whose career as a ranch dog apparently came to an end when she was kicked by a cow and severely injured. Instead of taking her to a vet, her previous owners chained her outside, where she was rescued by some volunteers from the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. As a result of her injury, Pumpkin uses a cart to get around these days, and is looking for a retirement gig as a family pet. She loves all humans and dogs she meets, though she's a little too interested in cats to live with them.
