Perhaps a little Valentine chocolate? Lab, that is...

If you're looking for the perfect companion, look no further than Bruce here. He was the same family's perfect companion almost all his life, and they clearly took great care of him—and then they got a new landlord who said the dog had to go.

Fortunately for this handsome 14-year-old, our good friends at Golden Gate Labrador Retriever Rescue stepped up and took him in, and he's amazed one and all with his youthful vigor and affectionate disposition. This chocolate Lab boy gets along great with dogs, cats, kids and adults, and has excellent manners; he takes treats politely and will give you a single bark to let you know he needs to go out. Also he doesn't freak out if you have to leave him alone in the house for a while. He's an active senior who's thriving on 40-minute walks, swimming, and energetic games of fetch, but he wants nothing more than to hang out with his people. If you think this sweet guy might be the love of your life, read more about him (and watch him chase a tennis ball) on GGLRR's Labs Available page, or call Allison at (415) 806-2490.

Lab Rescue has been taking in quite a few senior dogs lately, many of whom have needed treatment for medical issues that hadn't been addressed in their previous lives. They're now doing much better, but as you can imagine the vet bills do pile up. If you can help out with this essential part of getting deserving Labs to a better life, please donate!
