Dog-friendly tips from the innkeeper:

The Mendocino Coast is very dog-friendly in general, since so many people that live here have dogs. In Fort Bragg, though, there are 2 new dog parks, thanks to a dedicated group of dog people. The fenced dog park by the new Aquatic Center provides great opportunities to socialize your dog with other dogs. Noyo Dog Beach, located down under the Noyo Bridge on North Harbor Drive, allows for off-leash play on the beach. This is a beautiful location right by the ocean, and you can see the fishing boats going in and out of the harbor.

Dog-friendly policies:

  • Size: All sizes
  • Maximum number allowed: 3
  • Cost per dog: $20 Per Night

Dog-friendly property amenities:

  • Dog Waste Bags

The summer crowds are gone, cool weather has set in and Mendocino lodging properties are tempting visitors with low-season specials. The boutique Little River Inn, a bluff-top property with sweeping ocean views, leads the pet-friendly pack by offering 25 percent off on any room if booked by Nov. 15 for a minimum two-night stay between Nov. 26 and Dec. 21.

The Little River Inn has graciously greeted guests and their dogs for five generations, providing designated on-leash walking areas complete with waste bag dispensers and disposable receptacles, cover sheets for furniture, water and food dish, a pet towel, disposable waste bags and “welcome” treats.
