Boating on this Golden Gate Park lake has been a popular past time since the Victorian era. It's also said to be haunted by the "Lady of Stow Lake,"  a distraught mother who in the late 1800s jumped in the water to save her toddler, who had fallen in.

Boats are available for rent at the Stow Lake Boathouse, including rowboats, electric boats, and pedal boats that seat from one to four boaters. All motorboats, including the support boat, are electric powered and silently glide across the serene waters of Stow Lake. Dogs are permitted on boats (fee may apply).
