The SPCA of Mariposa County was incorporated on July 12, 1976.

Their specific and primary purpose is to provide a facility for keeping, and caring for animals and to provide a means of enforcing laws relating to cruelty to animals.

The general purpose, for which this corporation is formed, is to provide an arena for local education and humane treatment of animals and to foster local interest in such a society.
