Solano County Friends of Animals (SCFOA) is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. They are entirely volunteer run and 100% of all donations go directly to the care of the animals, including spay/neuter services, medical expenses, and Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) programs.

Though they try to accommodate all small mammals, their primary focus is on homeless cats and kittens.

Bark for Benicia

Yelp, we thought that seeing this Solano County town in the No. 4 slot on the Dog Fancy list would elicit yowls of surprise. Yet behind all those happily wagging tails in Benicia is a community of dog lovers who worked hard to create amenities such as Phenix Community Dog Park, and a pair of leash-free beaches on the Carquinez Strait at the edge of downtown. more »
