Seven Falls Trail
At the end of Tunnel Road
Santa Barbara, California
Visit Website
This popular hike in the Los Padres National Forest is best just after a rain, when the waterfalls are flowing and swimming holes are full. It's pretty at any time of year, however, and on clear days, the views go on forever. Allow about two hours for the 3- to 4-mile hike. Elevation gain is 800 feet. Wear sturdy shoes, as a lot of rock-hopping is involved.
Directions:
From the Santa Barbara Mission, drive to Foothill Road and turn right. Continue to the fire station, turn left and follow Mission Canyon Road. Bearing left, follow Tunnel Road to its end. Park on the right and make sure you stay within the white line; cars parked illegally are frequently ticketed. Hike down the road to the metal gate and the trailhead.
