Three miles north of Bodega Bay on Highway 1, is one of the best beaches for walking and surf wading on a hot summer night.

It's one of the Sonoma Coast's most expansive beaches, with lots of sand between the steep interior cliffs and the ocean. Rock fishing and surf fishing are popular activities on this beach.

Dogs must be on a leash that is no longer than six feet in length.

Help us keep this beach beautiful and dog-friendly:

• Respect natural marine life and habitats
• Be aware of tides and currents
• Pack in and pack out, leaving only paw prints

Furlong Gulch, Sonoma County. Furlong Gulch is one of several beaches you’ll come to as you travel along the 17 miles of beaches extending from the Vista Trail 4 miles north of Jenner all the way to Bodega Head. More than a dozen access points will take you to named strands in addition to Furlong (including Carmet Beach, Portuguese Beach and Marshall Gulch) separated by bluffs and headlands. more »
