This trail passes through the area burned in the 1990 fires and is often used to access the top of El Capitan. Originally the access road to Yosemite Valley it was deemed unsafe for cars after it was destroyed by a rock slide. Now this partially paved hike offers trekkers beautiful views of the Valley. It is a moderate 3 mile hike that should take about 1-3 hours.
