Moonstone Beach is just south of Trinidad, a small fishing town. (Take Westhaven exit off Hwy. 101 to Moonstone Beach Rd.)

Beautiful vistas of headlands and rocky coves surround this beach.

A great spot for surfing, surf kayaking and walking, this beach has it all—rocks to climb, tide pools, sea caves, plenty of sand and the Little River for boating and swimming.

Dogs are allowed off-leash as long as they are under voice control.

Help us keep this beach beautiful and dog-friendly:
• Always follow the posted rules
• Respect natural marine life and habitats
• Be aware of tides and currents
• Pack in and pack out, leaving only paw prints

Time your visit to arrive at low tide to stay within regulations—and watch out, especially in winter, for sleeper waves powerful enough to pull you and your furry friend from shore. more »
