While DogTrekker regularly updates off-leash rules, it is important to check to be sure that this area still allows voice control prior to removing your dog’s leash.
Luffenholtz park offers a sweeping overlook of the Pacific Ocean, picnic area and trail down to the beach. This is a spectacular rocky cove with tidepools and wildlife. Be aware of the tide and avoid becoming stranded.
Please keep your dogs under control at all times. The trail down to the beach is narrow so it's best to keep your dogs on leash untill you get to the sand.
Bring fresh water with you. No parking fees.
Directions:
Exit 726A off Hwy 101 south of Trinidad/north of Arcata. Go west to Scenic Drive and head north.
