Located in the hills just north of the City of El Cajon and west of Lake Jennings Reservoir, in southwestern San Diego County, Lakeside Linkage Preserve features a 1.3 mile multi-use trail leading to the historic Whitaker House.
The Whitaker House, a well-known Lakeside landmark, is a native moss-faced stone building located on a hill within the central property of the Preserve.
The Whitaker house is a significant structure for its architectural integrity and style as a vernacular residence, as well as its local meaning to the citizens of Lakeside and for the possibilities that its open space and vistas provide.
Directions:
Head east on Interstate 8, exit Los Coches Road and head north. Street parking along Los Coches Road, immediately after Ha Hana Road is allowed to access the Preserve's multi-use trail.
