This historic farmstead, with its weathered barn, house and outbuildings, is named for a grove of oaks, in turn named for the daughter of the first person to farm this land. The first vineyards were planted in 1888, with some still producing. The grove today does double duty as a museum, with artifacts and interpretive panels illustrating how the land looked before being plowed under. Jessie's Grove hosts a popular summer concert series as well as occasional theater events.

Please call or check website for hours.

Leashed dogs allowed on the grounds and in the grove and picnic area. Dogs not allowed during most events, but call first to ask.

Once you and Sparky have experienced the friendly atmosphere in the Sierra Nevada foothills, along the Sacramento River corridor or in surprising nooks and crannies of Yolo and Lodi farm country, you might see no reason to visit that “other” wine country again. more »
