Sonoma County Regional Parks The park consists of 1,750 acres of wilderness. Visitors are offered outstanding hiking, bicycle and equestrian trails.

On a clear day, you can see the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge from Gunsight Rock and the Valley View Trail.

Most trails are for experienced hikers in good physical condition.

Four environmental campsites are available in remote settings reached by hiking approximately 2 miles from parking areas.

Sites include tables, food lockers and tent pads. Primitive toilets are nearby. Potable water and electricity are not available.

Every good bird deserves watching at Bodega Bay, and the 1.2-mile Bird Walk Coastal Access Trail is a great venue for walking your dog while sharpening your identification skills. The trail follows a levee around two ponds in a 14-acre revitalized saltwater marsh area. It connects to Doran Regional Park, a sandy, 120-acre spit that forms the northern border of Bodega Bay and features a 2-mile beach where leashed dogs are welcome to accompany you on an invigorating walk. more »

Sonoma County Regional Parks With Your Pup

Sonoma County’s diverse network of regional parks is laced by more than 140 miles of trails leading to beaches, mountains, forests, lakes and meadows. Leashed dogs are welcome in most parks—but just so you know, regulations call for your pup to be licensed in the city or county where you reside, so be sure she’s tagged or you have the appropriate papers on your person. more »
