From the underdogs of California’s overcrowded municipal shelters to the street dogs of Mexico, Family Dog Rescue gives dogs in need a second chance.

They welcome these dogs into their San Francisco shelter and foster program, providing them with medical care, temperament analysis, spay/neuter, vaccinations and finally, a loving family of their own.

Family Dog Rescue is proud to save dogs of all kinds, including puppies, adults, mixed breeds, purebreds, and dogs with disabilities.

Launched when the founder shared the frustration of Bay Area parents who were turned away from adopting at shelters and rescues just because they had kids, Northern California Family Dog Rescue is based on the notion that families and dogs belong together. Not all families look the same, with many different mixes of adults, children and critters, but the idea at Family Dog Rescue is to find the dog that's going to be the ideal fit with that family. With that goal in mind, the rescue pulls dogs from shelters all over the state who would otherwise be in dire peril, and provides necessary care and training while waiting for their perfect match. more »
