Marin County Parks Open Space Leash Policy: Dogs on leash are welcome to enjoy trails. Dogs are allowed off-leash under strict voice control on fire protection roads. Please follow posted rules.
This seasonal waterfall accessed via an easy, half-mile path gushes just after a rain.
The trail is kid-friendly, dog-friendly and just plain fun for stretching human and canine legs.
This trail is part of Ignacio Valley Open Space Preserve.
Directions:
From Highway 101 in Novato, take the Ignacio Boulevard exit west towards the College of Marin Indian Valley Campus, turn left at Fairway Drive and continue all the way to the end of Fairway Drive.
The trail head is at a gate of what looks like a gated community that was started and never completed.
Park the car and take the trail next to the gate. Bear right, on the lower trail and you will cross the creek on a wood plank. Continue along the well-maintained trail to the waterfall.
For a longer hike: At the first waterfall continue up the trail to the right to the next two gushers.
