Denver Dan's in the Apple Hill region of El Dorado County offers you-pick apple orchards, a craft shop and a bake shop selling goodies ranging from apple struedel to pumpkin cheesecake, jams and gourmet vinegars.

The apple season runs from Labor Day to mid-October, with six varieties ripening during that time. Visitors pick up a bucket and can mix and match for one price.

Activities for children include cooking classes and apple wreath making. Farm tours and demonstrations by appointment.

Well behaved dogs on leash are welcome to accompany their humans both inside and outside the barn.

To get there from Highway 50:
Look for the Cedar Grove exit (#54). Continue Left (West) on Carson Road. Turn Right on Cable Road. Turn Left on Larsen Drive. Look for Denver Dan’s on the Left.
