Visit Website

Enjoy this City to the Sea bike trail that follows the Pacific Coast Railroad right-of-way along the San Luis Obispo Creek to Avila Beach.

Starts at the parking lot right off the 101 freeway and ends at the beach/promenade in downtown Avila Beach. This trail is great for walking dogs, skating, biking, etc.

The trail will take you through lush landscapes and gardens and follows a meandering stream. Also, there is a market and deli on the trail for food, wine and snacks.

Help us keep this trail beautiful and dog-friendly:
• Always follow the posted rules as they may have changed
• Respect and protect wildlife and habitats
• Pack in and pack out, leaving only paw prints

San Luis Obispo County encompasses just about everything California is known for, from mountains to ocean to wine country to laid-back vibe. Sure, you can shoot down from the Bay Area on Interstate 5 and Highway 46, but it’s much more rewarding to take the slow lane (Highway 101) all the way to Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo and beyond. more »
