Access to this beautiful beach is steep. It's at the base of a long wall of bluffs with multiple access points, so mark your spot so you can find your way back up.

This is not a convenient place for hauling grills or coolers, and parking is limited. All of which combines to make this beach, along with a stroll along the Blufftop Trail, perfect for an uncrowded escape.

Dogs are required to be leashed, but few are.

From Highway 1, a little less than half a mile south of the Highway 92 junction, turn west onto Poplar Drive. Go west about half a mile; the parking lot (no fee) is at the end of the road.

Help us keep this beach beautiful and dog-friendly:
• Always follow the posted rules
• Respect natural marine life and habitats
• Be aware of tides and currents
• Pack in and pack out, leaving only paw prints

DogTrekkers who live inland know they’re never far from Sweatshirt Land. So when the mercury climbs, those in the know leash up their pups and head for the coast, making base camp in unhurried towns like BeniciaPacifica, Point Reyes Station (gateway to the national seashore) or Half Moon Bay, all of which are well appointed with hiking trails. Our most recent weekend away was to Half Moon Bay, where early-morning fog gave way to blue-sky days and the shooshing sea was a soothing backdrop for long walks along the gorgeous Coastside Trailmore »
