The park is situated between Richardson Bay - an arm of San Francisco Bay and the Marin Bike path, a segment of the San Francisco Bay Trail system. Framed by Sausalito and Strawberry Point, the San Francisco skyline is visible from the park and 2571-foot Mount Tamalpais, Marin County's dominant landmark, fills much of the park's western view.

Clean, safe, well-tended and very active, the Mill Valley Dog Park is among the most scenic and enjoyable dog parks in the United States. The park is fenced along its western border with the Marin County Bike Path. Richardson Bay bounds the park on its eastern and southern sides.

• Please clean up after your dogs.

You’ve seen the views a million times in photographs, but if you haven’t soaked them up yourself, what are you waiting for? The Marin Headlands, that hilly peninsula on the Marin County side of the Golden Gate Bridge, is best known for views of the iconic structure, but with a little exploring, you’ll come to know it in a different way.  more »

Your dog needs to reliably come when called to be a responsible dog park visitor, especially if the play area is only partially fenced. If your tail-wagging companion fits the bill, you're a great candidate for Mill Valley Dog Run , (a.k.a. Mill Valley Dog Park), part of Bayfront Park and Bothin Marsh Open Space Preserve. A three-acre field next to an estuary is designated dog-friendly; it features agility areas as well as grassy space and a splash-happy area on Richardson Bay.

From mid-March through mid-October (a special event is planned for Dec. 31), park users gather for a "Fridays in the Park" yappy hour to share refreshments, talk story and get to know each other beyond just their dogs' names. It's very Marin...and very fun to experience even if you don't live here.
