The park, dotted with ancient oaks and bordered on two sides by the American River, is home to the renowned Effie Yeaw Nature Center. You and your leashed pooch can stroll among reconstructed Maidu Indian homes or meander along the many nature trails.

Directions:
• Located on Tarshes Drive
• From U.S. Highway 50, take the Watt Avenue off-ramp
• Head north to Fair Oaks Blvd. and turn right
• Follow Fair Oaks Blvd. to Van Alstine and turn right
• Turn left onto California Ave., then right at the park entrance

Open year-round from sunrise to sunset, special event fees vary by event.
