For years now, the paws-down, must-attend event for East Bay dogs is the
Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society's Bay to Barkers fundraiser. Aside from the signature one-mile walk along the waterfront, the event features a sniff-and-be-sniffed schedule that includes a Lead Dog contest, Doggy Olympiad, vendor fair and Do You Look Like Your Dog competition. If you adopted from Berkeley Humane, the annual alumni reunion is a sweet moment. Canine social butterflies will love a scene that encompasses hundreds of dogs and their people milling about, sampling treats, splashing in pools and meeting and greeting all the friends they didn't know they had.
