San Jose's upscale
Santana Row shopping, dining and entertainment district is always a prime place for people- and pooch-watching—especially around Bastille Day (July 14), when many establishments stage French-flavored events. French dogs are the focus on Sunday, when
LB Steak puts on its sixth annual
Poodle Parade benefiting
Hospice of the Valley Pet Companion Program. Both spectators and their dogs can enjoy a special cocktail and appetizer menu on the dog-friendly patio as poodles (other breeds also welcome) strut their stuff on the red carpet. A live MC, musical entertainment, raffle prizes and services of a pet valet are part of the program. Registration, $10, includes a souvenir photo. Parading begins at noon.
