The Chanric Inn
Kayla and the DogTrekker.com co-founders traveled to dog-friendly
Calistoga for a nice weekend of hiking, wine tasting (over two dozen
dog-friendly wineries just in Calistoga), dining and pretty much kicking back. We choose a DogTrekker.com favorite, the
Chanric Inn which is close to downtown.
Innkeepers Joel Haddad and Jean-Marc Dollard have restored this 1870s-era mansion into their vision of an ideal B&B. Not only are the rooms cozy and bright, but they have low-rise platform beds perfect for our aging Kayla. The furnishings are a very well done blend of contemporary furnishings and antique desks and bureaus.
A highlight at the Chanric Inn is the 3-course brunch served to guests everyday by the innkeepers with haute menu items that you would likely find in a fine Paris hotel. After brunch, guests can enjoy the terraced gardens or do nothing at all.
Four paws up for this romantic and once again, dog-friendly property.
