Haute Dog, It’s Muttville!

Walkin' the catwalk at Haught Dog 2014DogTrekker.com was on hand last Saturday evening at the San Francisco Design Center for Haute Dog Fashion Show 2014, benefiting our good friends at Muttville Senior Dog Rescue.

"Haute Dog is a very special evening celebrating our love of dogs and fashion. Muttville is honored to be the recipient charity of this exciting event!" exclaimed Sherri Franklin, Founder and Executive Director of Muttville. Sherri walked the runway with her own Muttville senior, Ernie Borgniner, a thirteen year old Dalmatian dressed in Haute Couture, created by Madaline Pacheco out of recycled sardine cans, wires and polka dot fabric.

All dressed up for the Haught Dog BallPresented yearly by the San Francisco Design Center and The Luxury Marketing Council, Haute Dog is a celebration of dogdom – a unique opportunity to rejoice in a mutual obsession with our pooch pals. Attendees were able to mingle with the dogs, have fun watching the runway antics and sip premium wine donated by Handley Cellars from Mendocino County.

Haught Dog High FiveMuttville Rescue is dedicated to saving older dogs. When senior dogs end up in local shelters, they are often passed over for puppies and often face being put down. Muttville saves the lives of over 500 of these senior dogs each year, providing medical care, grooming, good food, loving foster care and finally finding their forever homes.

While the final totals from Haute Dog haven’t yet been tallied, we do know that more than $20,000 was raised for Muttville. For more information on Muttville Senior Dog Rescue and to donate, go here.
