If you live in the South Bay and have been longing to adopt a new best family friend, the Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) has some incentives that just might get you off the fence this holiday season. From now through the end of the year, the organization is offering $15 adoption fees on any of the dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals in its care. HSSV’s main adoption center is in Milpitas, but the organization has teamed up with Petco and PetSmart to provide adoptions at satellite centers in West San Jose, Sunnyvale and Mountain View. Adoption specialists are on hand at all locations to help find the perfect canine-human match.
Once your new four-legger has settled in, leash up and check out the many hiking havens in your back yard. Or, join the see-and-be-seen DogTrekkers at fashionable shopping oases like Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto or Santana Row in San Jose.
